In the Intaglio Course students learn about the four categories of prints and how to identify them as well as some of the history. Students will learn the theory of printmaking, the philosophy behind graphic images, and then given opportunities to apply their knowledge to print. They are also taught a brief history in paper and a lesson on some basic book constructions.
At the senior levels the students choosing this studio learn more advanced printmaking techniques. They will also expand their knowledge in the theory and history of the mediums. The students in this course will also learn to market their prints through series of lessons on presenting their prints, framing and also a group of exhibitions both inside and outside of school. The class will also have opportunities to go on field trips, and meet artists who work as print makers.
