Textiles

Textiles encompass layering, patterning, colour, transparency and structuring of fibre and fabric. Through creative exploration of processes such as drawing, printing, dyeing, embroidering, quilting, knitting, spinning, weaving and feltmaking, students are inspired to produce samples and portfolio pieces. The rich traditions of textile arts are researched through sketchbooks. Students are encouraged to investigate other cultures and their wealth of surface design and embellishment through a personal creative process.
